The world’s most famous store may become a familiar brand name around the world.
Harrods, the upmarket store in London’s Knightsbridge that is frequented by royalty and Hollywood stars and once held warrants to supply the Queen of England, is considering opening a string of luxury, Harrods-branded hotels in major cities around the world.
Harrods, formerly owned by the colourful Egyptian Mohamed Al Fayed but now in the hands of Qatar Holdings and the Qatari royal family, wants the familiar logo to be seen in the Far East and the US..
"The target plan is to open Harrods hotels in key cities such as Kuala Lumpur, New York and Paris as well as in China," a spokesman said.
